Sclan Music Foundation has been awarded grant from the The National Lottery Community Fund to deliver an innovative community project aimed at tackling anti-social behaviour and improving the wellbeing of young immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers in Gorton.
The funding will support the Gorton Anti-Social Behaviour Project, a programme combining therapeutic support and music-based activities to help vulnerable young people avoid involvement in drugs, alcohol misuse, vandalism, and other behaviours that negatively impact their futures and the wider community.
The project will provide specialist psychotherapy workshops, one-to-one support sessions, and music training opportunities, creating safe spaces where young people can build confidence, develop new skills, and strengthen their mental health and resilience.
Founded to use music as a tool for social change, Sclan Music Foundation has become a trusted organisation supporting disadvantaged communities across Manchester. This latest funding recognises the charity’s ongoing commitment to empowering young people and creating positive pathways for those facing social and economic challenges.
